Because the Club halves were superior, the Army backs had Fewer chances. For speed also, the Club backs were faster than
their opponents. While the Club forwards shone mainly in the loose. the Army pack had the better of things in tight acrums. But the deciding factor, apparently, lay in the Club having understanding and, therefore, combination-while the Army XV had not played to- gether before. Nevertheless the Club deserved to win.
