In a suit before the Chief Justice (Sir-William Murison) on October 16 in which Chop Eng Hong were sued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank for damages, for alleged failure to complete an ex- change contract, the defence was raised that the contract was entered into by one of the two partners without the authority of the firm, and not. on behalf of the} firm.
