SECRET SOLD

EXORBITANT PRICE PAID BY TWO POWERS

MYSTERIOUS ENCHANTRESS

London, Yesterday. According to a Berlin telegram no fewer than three Powers, including two of the Great Powers obtained tropies of a secret cypher the loss of which led recently to the recall of the members of the staff of the Italian embassy in Berlin.

It appears that subsequently two of these Powers were most disgust. ed to find that each had paid an exor- bitant price for the same secret! This led to its exposure of the transaction.

a

It is stated that Great Britain ia not concerned in the matter.

According to one report "blonde beauty" was the instrument through whom the transaction was carried out.

This mysterious enchantress is said to have cropped up in Berlin Society some months ago. Her nationality is doubtful. She spoke several languages perfectly, and preferred the society of diplomats. -Reuter.

The Bureau is divided for the present into two sections; the first section, which is at Tungshan, will take care of general business affairs, while the second section at the Mis- sions Buildings will be devoted to the analysis of fertilisers.

Injurious to Sell

Our correspondent is informed by the Bureau that the fertilisers im- ported into Canton, are mostly artificially made, and some are being mixed up with alum, chalkstone and alumina, which are not only wasting the farmers money, but injurious to the soil.
