Kowloon are at home to South China, another team who have so far only played one match. They were good enough to account for RA, however, last week and will probably run the peninsula team very close. The Bor- derers play Club de Recreio on the i Sookumpoo enclosure, and although not very impressive in Wednesday's game I expect them to win for Recreio are anything but strong combination at present, A. Gosano's absence from the side being very much felt. The other senior match is between St. Joseph's the score being a fair reflex of the Hancock and Beavis and Chinese Athletic on the Hong Kong F.C. ground. Although the latter are not producing last season's form up to the present, they will probably be too good for their opponents who at present occupy an unenviable positian at the bottom of League table.

For the past two years the Club has been in a strong financial position so' much so that last year it was possible to award better and more exponsive cups to the winners of the tourna-

ments.

As can be seen from the statement of accounts we have a very satisfac tory balance in hand.

Inter-Club Matches. During the past season several natches were ar- ranged with other Clubs, our members suffering one defeat in the four matches that were played.

Our conquerors were the German Club who won by four points, to two In January last.

However, we had our revenge in two subsequent meetings, the first of these resulting in a victory for us by five points to one and the second by six clear points.

Earlier in the season we entertain- ed a team from H.M.S. "Hermes" and won by one point.

The Club has been in touch with the Shanghai Chess Club and the Tien- tain Chess Club throughout the year and both institutions extend to any of our members who might visit either port an invitation to make use of their premises.
