Establishment of Central Selling Organisation

in connection with the recent exclusive forecast on the rub- the ber position given in "China Mail" recently, we are now able to state that the Dutch Rubber Growers' Asso- clution Protection Committee have invited its constituents in Amsterdam to a meeting on Oct. 22 to consider a draft scheme which proposes.. the forming of a central selling or- ganisation in which Dutch East Indian and British producers will be asked to co-operate.

The organisation will pool about 20 per cent. of its output of standard quality and will fix a minimum sales price over a specific period.

Danger Points

It is generally believed that when the projects were discuss- ed with the American' dele- gation the unanimous ap- proval of the R.G.A. was not therefore any obtained, and agreement between the Dutch and American would be only provisional

ineffective and without the English; also it is hinted in some quar- ters that the question of native grown rubber would be suffici- ent to disturb stability.

Therefore, it appears that the policy which could be most use- fully followed at present by the - English and Dutch is that of the establishment of a central selling organisation, and it would be unwise, to hope for higher things.
