RAILWAY WAGES

A provisional agreement has been reached between the railway companies and the three railway trades unions, under which the existing agreement for a wage reduction of two and a half per cent. will be continued for six months until May 12, 1930.
The agreement which is subject to ralification by a delegate conference of the three Unions, represents a com promise, as the Companies desired the reduction te be continued for a further year.
The Trados' Unions recently an- nounced that the reduction would not be renewed at the expiry of the old agreement. Reuter.
