INTERPORT LAWN BOWLS

Civil Service Cricket Club Lose

WAS IT STAGE FRIGHT?

Shanghai's Biggest Victory In Colony

[By "Short Head "]

The match yesterday afternoon between the Civil Service Cricket Club and the Shanghai lawn bowlers was disappointing as a display of the game, particularly after the keen exhibition on the previous afternoon. The Civil Service C.C. had a good team. indi- vidually each and all have played better many a time and oft, but whether they were affected by "stage frighi" or something akin to it cannot be stated positively. They were well drubbed but, like the sportsmen that they always are, they cheerfully admitted it without seeking refuge in excuses or explanations.

A Forecast

- The tark of forecasting results is extremely difficult with only a few. friendly fixutres to act as a guide to form. In making the attempt, how- ever, I give the Police to just about beat the R.A, at Sookumpon, although the former have so far given no in- dication of their strength this season.
