Lieutenant Florentin Bounet, war ace and France's entrant in the Schneider Cup Race, was instantly kill ed recently when his seaplane crashed at Bordeaux. Lieutenant Bonnett was holder of the world's speed record for land 'planes and had a notable record during the War. He was awarded the French Military Medal and later the Cross of the Legion of Honour for his fighting exploits. His death brings to
an end a colourful career.
Viola Gentry, plucky avictrix, is coming out viieter in her game fight at Nassau County Hospital, New York, where she is confined since injured when her endurance flight plane dashed to earth at Roosevelt Field, L. 1, a few weeks ago. Jark Asheraft, her co- pilot, was killed the crush Miss Gentry's ecovery is considered remarkable in view of the serious nature of her wounds which neces sitated blood transfusions.

After accid~ntally shooting their 11 year-en pa), Arthur Gentile. in the head, these two youths, Artill» Tassi, left, 9 years, and Romulus Lucontini, 13 years, of Woburn, Mass. innocently dug a grave and were about to bury Cir victini, still alive, when a neighbour came upon the scene and snatched the dying boy from his grave. He was rushed to Choate Memorial Hospital, but later died. Police were rotified and the two boys are held for manslaughter.

prison for life, 68 years ago, Jesse Pomeroy, centra, holding package, leid his eyes on the outside world when he was transferred to the
State prisun farm to serve the remainder of his sentence. He went
with two other prisoners, shown with him. Pomeroy was convicted,
at the age of 37, for the murder of two children younger that himself.
