STEAMSHIP TRUST
CHAIRMAN REPORTS SUBSTAN- TIAL CARRY FORWARD
The 42nd annual general meeting of the British Steamship Investment Trust. Ltd., was held in Landon, Sir Austin E. Harris, K.B.E. (the chair- man), presiding.
The chairman said that the total income of the Trust for the past Year amounted to £273,873, less tax, an increase of £28,996, and after de- ducting Debenture interest and ex- penses of management £177,72% re- mained, against $179,516 last year. This slight reduction was largely due to the fact that no revenue had yet been received from some of the new investments made during the year. The investments had been increased by £474,492. and appeared in the balance sheet under 15 classifications, each of which had a higher market value than the balance sheet figure.
