According to reports by an intimate friend of Gene Tunney, Mrs. Gene Tunney, the former Polly Lauder, is in an extremely pre- carious condition and is being kept alive by artificial means. is said that if her life is to be saved it is only because she has the means to command every aid of medical science to save her. Had her illness not interrupted their plans the honey-mooners had intended to return to Gene's little cottage at Stamford, Conn.

Hospitals Guard Against Explosion

The holocaust wrought at Cleveland Clinic Hospital, where. 125 patients, doctors and at- tendants perished in poisonous gas, released when an explosion occurred in the X-ray film storage room, has led authorities of many cities to turn their official eyes on the situa tion in their own cases. Regulations in New York require non-inflammable film be used.
