PRINCESS NORAH

A bow rudder is a unique feature in the equipment of the Princess Norah, latest addition to the flect of the British Columbia Coastal Stearnships of the Canadian Pacific Railway. This facilitates the eon- trol of the vessel in the narrow channels in Pacific constal waters and between Vancouver Island and the mainlard linking the ports of Vancouver, Victoria, and Seattle.

The Princess is shown bere in dry- dock, her bow rudder being plainly visible. On her initial voyage up the coast she. carried a disting- uished company, including Their Excellencies the Governor General and Lady Willingdon, Hon. Ran- dolph Bruce, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and his nicee. Miss Helen Mackenzie, and prom- inent residents of the Pacific coast.

Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Willingdon are photographed with "Captain Jack" who, on behalf of the Indians of Friendly Cove. presented them with the forty-foot totem pole on the occasion of their tour of the west coast of Vancouver Island on the initial voyage of the Princess Canadian Pacific S.S. Norai.

At the heart of New York, at 42nd Street is the New York Central Station where Canadian Pacific trains from Montreal and Toronto arrive and depart. The above is a photo of the New York, Central building which is a part of the station building and is one of the out- standing buildings in a city of wonderful buildings. Standing almost ferty stories high at the head of Park Avenue, it rises well. above the high buildings surrounding. It is of gold relieved by britant reds and greens and when lit by a battery of flood-lights at night it is one of the beautics of New York and can be seen for many miles around.
