This morning at the Central Magistracy, many cases were heard by Mr. E. W. Hamilon against drivers of cars.

In one case, a driver who was summoned for causing an obstruc tion in Rumexy-street by leaving his car unattended, was said to have been convicted for various offences, sixteen times within the last fifteen months.
His Worship said that if accused was brought up again, he would ask the police to withdraw his licence.
In imposing a fine of 86, with the alternative of eight days' imprison-! ment. His Worship asked the prose cution to take a note of the fact that accused had been warned.
Driving Without Brakes For driving without brakes, a driver of a public motor car was fined $5.

School Girl Summoned
Pearl Woo, who was summoned for driving her car without a licence, was not present in Court when her name was called. Instead her father appeared, and said that he did so on her behalf. His daughter was in school and was unable to attend. She was only 19 years of age, and had obtained a driver's licence last
year.
The prosecution said that when she was asked to produce her licence
she did not have one.
A fine of $5 was imposed.

HONG KONG TIDE.
The tide-table given below has been obtained by aid of the Tide-predicting Machine, which includes 40 compon from the result of the analysis of the nts for the better prediction of tides, tidal observations, taken at the Kau- lng tidal observatory under the direction of Dr. Doberck during the years 1887; 1888 and 1389.
The times and heights are given for Kaulung; but they may he used for the Victoria Naval Yard and Aberdeen, the differences being very small.
The times of high-and low-water must not be considered to coincide with the times of slack-water and change of current, the two phenomena being quite distinct.
