FRENCH REVENUE

AN INCREASE OVER THE FORECASTS

Paris, Yesterday. The revenue returns for April botalled 3,982 million francs, showing an increase of 630 million compared with the budget forecasts and 502 compared with April last year.

The total for the first four months shows an increase of 1934 million franca compared with the forecasta and 1,408 million compared with same period in 1928-Havas.

Mr. John Parsons, Newcastle, is to retire from the position of cashier and secretary with Messrs. Scott Bros., Ltd., coal exporters and general merchants, after 55 years' service. He has been a member of the Newcastle Commercial Exchange for many yeard, and in 1924 was presented with a commemorative parchment to mark his jubilee in busi- ness. Until recently he was secretary of the Tyneside Shippers and Lighter User's Association.
