It begins with a cinematograph flm of scenes in an abortive and ruthlessly suppressed revolution, and then introduces us to the res volutionary hero. One must be grateful to the enterprise of Mr. Peter Godfrey and his Gate Theatre Studió in presenting a play which no other London theatre would venture to touch. It is certainly a
good thing that these "plays of the day after to-morraw" should have some sort of a showing here, but one must be allowed to hope that the masterpieces of the future will be on less eccentric lines. J. G. B. in "Evening News"

A London writer. says:—
I am very glad to see that Mr. Eugene Goossens's opera "Judith" is to be given next season at Covent Garden. -I have watched him at work on the score, which is a miracle of neatness, and have heard him play some of it over on the piano. It is really lovely music. He told me, that he hop- ed to secure a certain well-known actress of the legitimate stage- not for Judith but, for one of the minor roles.
