CHAMPIONS v. THE REST
The official cricket season, local- ly, was brought to an end on Satur- day with the castomary Cham pions versus The Rest matches-in the two divisions of the League.
The Senior XI. of the Hong Kong CC., as expected, account- ed for the pick of other teams affiliated to the League, but the second their trouncing which eleven received was a surprise.
of the Civil Veteran members Service C.C. gave a younger team from the same Club quite a scare at Happy Valley. It has been sug- gested that these old 'uns night displace the regular C.S.C.C. 2nd XI. in the League next year!...

CHAMPIONS . THE REST
On their own greund, the cham- pions of the Senior League, the Hong Kong C.C., defeated The Rest by 24 runs.
Bowlers held the upper hand for the most part, and the scoring en both sides was low.
The champions started promis- ingly, their first-wicket partner: ship, between Hayward (22) and Moor (11), producing 35 runs. A five more rot set in thereafter, wickets falling for an addition of 18. Mitchell and Hancock then improved matters, the former Beer-

Comdr. Baker played a big pert in the attack by bowling 17 overs and although his figures were Lot very convincing (3 for 29) he was largely instrumental in keeping the runs down for his side. Brace, however, did the most damage, taking seven wickets for 26.
The Rest opened shakily, and it was carly apparent that their chances of passing their oppon ents' total were not bright: Hung (30) and Brace (19) were the only batsmen who played confidently against the bowling of Parker (5 the best for 16), who returned analysis on either side, and Dobbie (3 for 45).
