Mr. C. G. Alabaster, O.R.E., K.C., with whom Mr. Eldon Potter, K.C. (instructed by Messrs. d'Almada & Mason) appears for the defence, referred to a dispute at the pre- vious hearing as to the translation of a document. one of the prin cipal exhibits in the case.

Mr. Alabaster said that he would not argue further against the translation put in by Mr. F. C... Jenkin (instructed by Messrs. Hastings, Dennys & Bowley) for the plaintiff, because that version. seemed to have the truer effect." But. Mr. Alabaster continued, there was an omission (in plain-. tiff's translation) of a number of chops. Plaintiff's version indicat- ed that theer was only one chop on the note-"Ma Pak Leung" (the name by which defendant firm is known and is claimed to exist in
