The least I could do was to have one fitted, and now having given it a thorough trial, I am pleased to Isay that the dimmer does all I had hoped of such a device. A pull- and-push koob on the dashboard gives you anything from a red glow to full brilliance, and, in spite of anticipations, I am quite surprised to find how much use I make of it, and what a comfort it is.
You can get just. the, illumination you want at dusk, that trying time, and half-light seems exactly the thing for those half-lit suburban streets. To prevent dazzle, of course, dippers are the thing, but the diramer would have averted the contretemps described above. It costs only half a guinea and it can be fitted to any Lucas, C.A.V. for Rotax lamps.
Another Clever Accessory Another lighting gadget that has been brought to my notice-- a really new one this time--is the Sétalite, a most ingenious bit of (clockwerk that switches on your sidelights and tail lamp at the proper time in your absence.
Suppose you are paying a call of an afternoon and do not expect to emerge before lighting up time, which is, say, an hour and-a-half Jahead. You set the Setalite at ninety minutes, push the lamp switch over and leave it, happy inf the knowledge that there will be no accusatory policeman. waiting for you when you come out. Just the thing for bridge-players." It is simple to fit, easy to use, consumes no current, and as far as I can find there are no "snags"-the cleverest. new accessory I have been for some time.
