New York. Members of the Stock Exchange are now pointing with pride to the fact that they have a clergyman in their ranks. He is the Rev. Charles Apey, who recently paid £112,000 for mem- bership.

While obtaining theological training, Mr. Apey Wemployed as a clerk in Stock Exchange firm, and although spending his Sundays in the pulpit of the Second Advent Church, he con- tinued to work during the other six days on the door of the Stuck Exchange.

He says that embership of the Exchange will not cause him to drop his clerical duties.

The third national Congress of the Nationalist Party-described in one quarter as the annual general meeting of shareholders in the Republic of China, convened by the directors in session in Nanking has opened with the usual blaze of trumpets. Immediately before that was the settlement of the Hunan trouble when recurrence of civil war seemed to be impending.
