CARGO ON FIRE AT SHANGHAI

6 HOURS' BRIGADE WORK |

Shanghal, Yesterday,

Fire broke out thla morning in the hold of the P. & C. ss. "Mirza- pare." which arrived from India on March 1 with a cargo of cotton.

The fire brigade after six and a talf hours controlled the fire, but it is believed that it will require twenty-four hours before it la com- pletely extinguished.

The cause of the outbreak is un- known and the damage cannot yet be ascertained.-Reuter.
