The bout, over ten rounds, took Place at Flamingo Park.
30,000 spectators were present and receipts totalled £80,000, so ap parently Dempsey's first promotion
venture has been successful.
The fight however was more a rough house than a boxing match. Stribling won the first two rounds, but the Bostonian soon solved his opponent's style, and neither gave any quarter. Wild swings were common, many of them dangerous- ly low. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW

AUSTRALIAN TURF
FAVOURITES FOR COMING RACES
The big match is the meeting of the Athletic and Boyal Navy, the latter being able to field a formid able side a full strength and should be too strong for the Ath- lette, although the latter are play ing smartly now. I think that the Navy's team, which includes Macgregor, Tilley, Jones, Peacock, Kernick, Barkham and Evans will be the strongest they have fieldad this year; and i certainly think they should not he behind at the final. Navy should

South China face the Club de Recreio at Caroline I and this also should be a fine match, with South China striving desperately to hold their lead. Much will de- pend on the side the Recreio can feld us at full strength there should be very little between the teams, South China have intro- duced chapges forward which have promised well, the

The R.A. meet the K.O.S.B. In spite of the form of either team. hefore these Regimental matches.. when they meet it is usually a case of "Greek meeting Greek" and A hard game to the final whistle. To-morrow's match should be no exception to the rule, and if the Borderers da, secure the points, as expected, there will be very little in it. Anyhow, fancy the Bor derers, who play bright snappy football and their speed should just give them the advantage and points.
·
The meeting of the two senior civilian British Clubs at Kowloon is another case of local rivalry and meetings between the Clubs are al- ways of the keenest nature. Kow- loon are having a lean season with occasional good displays and the Club's form is similar. Both teams' great weakness is forward, and in a low scoring match, which ls probable, the Club ought to get home.
McKelve will go forward
to strengthen the attack as Kow- loon halves fre playing well, Easterbrook being a favourite in Sim's place at the Railway ground. Kowloon have no chance in the

GARDENER'S FATE
DONE TO DEATH IN KOWLOON TONG
DOGS RAKE ALARM
Mystery at present surrounds the murder of a Chinese at old Kowloon Tong yesterday afternoOD.
The first intimation of the affair. was given to the Police by Ping Chau, a gardener employed at the Luk Fang Sang garden. Ho said that at about 6.30 p.m., yesterday, his attention was attracted to the furious barking of the dogs at Ell
Cottage.
'Together with another gardener, Ping Chau went to investigate. In the kitchen of the Cottage they found Chan Slu (38) the gardener employed at the place, lying on the floor. There was a plece of cord tied tightly round his neck, and there was a wound on his head.
The man was still alive when Ping Chau and bis'companion got to the Cottage, but died before the arrival of the police who were immediately sent for.
EH Cottage was unoccupied at the time of the outrage and Chan Slu was the sole caretaker. The motive of the crime is at present unknown and from appearance robbery was not committed, although the investi- gators surmise that the assailant may have taken away some blankets and clothing.

NEW OWNERS TO SPEND £2,000,000
**
London, Feb. 28. Olympia, the largest exhibition hall in England, passed yesterday into the hands of new owners who have decided upon plans for a fur- ther extension a... renewal of the building which will take over a year to complete. The estimated cost is about £2,000,000. When his work is finished, Olympia will

be straightened out as-prima facie a distinct injustice appears to have been done to the Tramway Co.
