Two men were left hanging to "live" overhead tram wires in Stretford-road, Manchester, re cently, following a collision be tween a two-seater car and a ape- cial lorry, fitted with a tower, on which they were working.
The lorry was pushed from under the legs of the men, who clutched the wires and were left hanging 18ft. from the ground, where they were forced to remain suspended until a ladder was ob tained. The car and lorry were badly damaged, and the driver of the car was taken to the Royal In- firmary for treatment.
