First Monthly Concert
This season, for sallurs and soldiers of uli nationalities at Shanghai was given to a packed house at the Navy Y.M.C.A. when Brigadier O. C. Borrett, O., C.M.G., C.B.E.. D.5.0., A.D.C. (commanding the 14th Intantry Brigade and the Shanghal area) represent- ing .. the General Officer Commanding, North China (Maj-Gen. A. E. Wardrop, CB, C.M.G.), warmly thanked Lt. Col. Kilgore and the 4th Regimental Band the U.S. Marine Corps for their delightful music rendered under the able direction of 1st. Sgt. M. A. Shaw, The British Choir also took part, singing very well under their conductor, Mr. C. J. vau Heysti (Ah Fong).

M M. R Esnault-Pelterie, an English scientist and inventor, who talked of a trip to the moon via the rocket route. Mr. Pelterie, the inven- tor of the "jou stick" of the aeroplane, went into detail of the method of using a giant rocket for the trip.
