First Monthly Concert
This season, for sailors and soldiers of all nationalities at Shanghai was given to a packed house at the Navy Y.M.C.A. when Brigadier O. C. Borrett, O.B., C.M.G., C.B.D., D.S.O., A.D.C., (commanding the 14th fatantry Brigade and the Shanghai area) represent- ing E. the General Officer Commanding, North China (Maj. Gen. A. E. Wardrop, C.B., G.M.G.), warmly thanked Lt. Col. Kilgore and the 4th Regimental Band of the U.S. Marine Corps for their delightful music rendered under the ablo direction of lat. Sgt. M. A. Shaw., The British Choir also took part, singing very well under their conductor, Mr. C. J. van Heyst-(Ah Fong).

Mr. M. R. Eanault-Pelterio, an English scientist and Inventor, who talked of a trip to the moon via the rocket route. Mr. Pelterie, the inven tor of the "joy atick" of the aeroplane, went into detall of the method of using a giant rocket for the trip.
