A dinner was given by the Chinese-American Relations Committee of the Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce to Chinese bankers at the American Club. Last Picture of the
Vestris
Here is how the Lamport and Holt liner "Vestris" appeared as she departed on
fatal, trip to South America. The vessel was abandoned by all hands off Cape
after a hurried S. O. 8. had been sent out asking hearby craft to rush to the aid of pas-
sengers in lifeboats. The map shows approximate spot where the "Vestris) dived to
watery grave.
