POLA NEGRI
TO APPEAR IN “LOVES OF AN ACTRESS"
THE CHINA MAIL,
Paramount's production of Pola Nogri's latest and greatest starring. vehicle, "Loves of An Actress," a thrilling romance having to do with the life and career of the celebrated French tragedienne, Rachel, le the result of months of proparation.
Unusual settings have been con- structed on many of the Paramount studio stages, and the wardrobe de- partment has worked night and day in the preparation of the silks and satins for the picture.
Miss Negri la thrilled at being able to play such a role, a part that calls all her talents to the surface, [according to reports coming from
the movie plant in Hollywood.
"Loves of An Actress" was tran- slated to the screen by Ernest Vajda, and is the combined work of Vajda, Mias Negri and Director Rowland V. Lee, During her re- cent trip abroad, Miss Negri.went into the archives of France and found much. interesting and com- paratively unknown data on the life and loves of the actress. This material has been interwoven in the story, with strong dramatic results.

Exterior scenes of the production are to be taken at the picturesque Betatakin .cliff ruins in the famous Segi Canyon in Arizona. Some of the sequences of "The Water Hole" are to be filmed in technicolour.
Plays Happily All Day.
In none of his previous THE HEALTHY CHILD bad man characterizations has Powell turned to the straight and narrow path. He has gone hia wicki .ed way to the final fadeout and has died two or three unrepent. ant screen deaths.
In "Forgotten Faces," a special production with an all star cast, Powell is to have the role of "The Frog," a.ainister appearing charac- ter who in reality has many redeem- ing qualities. Loyalty to a buddy is one of those qualities.
Clive Brook, the talented English actor, Olga Baclanova, famous Rus sian dramatle star, Mary Brian. Fred Kohler and Jack Luden are other members of the all-star cast of this picture. Victor Schertzinger is to direct.
