THE CHINA MAIL,
For their Blue Funnel Line, Messrs, Alfred Holt and Co. have ordered. two similar motor ships, 426.6 ft. long b.p.. with a beam of 56 ft. and a depth of 31.5 ft. The deadweight capacity will be about 8,000 tons. One will be built by the Caledon Co. and the other by Scotts Shipping and Eng- ineering Co. They are for the owners' Eastern trade, and will be similar generally to several other motor vessels engaged in this service.
In these ships machinery built to the owners' specifications will be installed. There will be two engines per vessel with ale
