The story is so good that all who have children should go to-day and see this irresistible film; as Barrie says "One must forget grown up ways and be a child again," and its just lovely to do this.

Witness was

cross-examined by

Mr. G. S. Hugh Jones who appear ed for the defendant. She admitted that her betrothed had given his name as Li Nok-cheong, which was false, for the register.

Suen Yu-yut deposed that he was a student of the Alexandra School, Kowloon. He had known the girl for a year and, although they had not been formally married, they had been living together.

After evidence had been given by constable, Sergeant the Indian Kinnaird was called. He stated that when he heard the whistle at that time, he went up to the car and saw the Indian constable sitting be- Witness, however, gave some conside the driver of the car. Witness further stated

that he had paid $5 to the boarding house in advance and that the charge was $2 a day for each person.

THE MEETING. Answering Mr. Hugh Jones, wit. nes said that he knew that the charge for two persons per day was $3. He had stayed there with the girl for two days and he could not give a reason why the boarding house only charged him $4.15, Wit- ness contended that the 15 cents was extra for rice.

Witness, when questioned by the Magistrate, first said that the girl had written a letter telling him to come and meet her and that he had met her on the ship; then he said he met her at the Tal Law Tin Boarding House.

Witness was again roprimanded by his Worship who said that wit- ness had been telling a deliberate lie and had committed perjury. He

was, therefore, ordered to pay a

fine of $50 or, in default, serve four

weeks with hard labour.

The Magistrate (to the Indian

The defendant was discharged.
