To celebrate the eight hundredth anniversary of the landing of Cistercian monks in England, Cardinal Bourne (leading procession) said mass in the ruins of historic Waverly Abbey at Faversham The English branch of the order was found in 1128 when twelve Cistercian monks, led by their abbot, established the monastery.
