At Slough, Alfred Henry Barrs, a commission agent, of Atherstone, was fined five guineas for sending an invitation to an "Infant" at Eton College to bat.
The "infant" was Gerald Ather ton Brown, son of Mr. H. A. Brown, the amateur steeplechase rider.
