A contract has just been placed by the Admiralty for the construe- tion of H.ALS. "Acheron," the last of the eight destroyers authorised under the Navy Estimates for 1927-28.

The hull of this vessel will be built by Messrs. J. 1. and Co. Ltd., of Thornycroft Southampton, while the Parsons Marine Steam Turbine Company Ltd., of Wallsend, will supply the machinery.
