Why Driscoll Was Furlous. And I can see with my mind's eye the distress of Jim Driscoll, who was furious at the blow aus. tained by British boxing. DECIDES NOT TO APPEAL
London, Yesterday.
Oscar Slater is reported to have decided to abandon his appeal as 4 sequel to the ruling of the High Court.of Edinburgh that he would not be allowed to give evidence. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who for many years championed. Slater's cause, in an Interview said that Slater was terribly disappointed because he was not allowed to give evidence.
Sir Arthur is of the opinion, that Slater's brain is almost turned by what he has undergone. Sir Conan Doyle is making every effort to induce Slater to change hic mind; meanwhile, Slater's counsel, inter- viewed, denied knowledge of the new decision.-Reuter,

In the past, Mr. Cheng said, they had done honour to those who had served the Association by present- ing them mamentoes, and he sug- gested to the meeting that such an honour would be very appropriate in Mr.. Ng's 'case. It was not an honour that should be lightly given, but he felt sure that every mem- 4ber would agree that in this case it had been thoroughly earned. (Ap- plause.)
His Worship came to the conclu- sion that defendant's story was un- true, and that he came down for "some other and deeper motive," In sentencing defendant to months' hard labour, Mr. Schofield ordered him to be deported at the expiration of the sentence.
