SHAKESPEARE BIRTHDAY FESTIVAL, APRIL 23. The anniversary of the birth and death of William Shakespeare, celebrated at Stratford-on-Avon, Warwickshire, the poet's birth place in traditional manner. The chief feature was the unfurling of the flags of many nations and the visiting of Shakespeare's house by numerous delegates and Visitors, both English and foreign.
