On Saturday afternoon Hia Lord- ship the Bishop of Victoria eon- Becrated the new All Saints Church for Chinese at Homuntín.

The splendid new califice was filled with a very large congrega- tion of Chinose faithful, many of whom went over from Hong Kong to attend the consecration cere- many.

The Procession.

The procession formed up out- side the Church, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Duppuy being preceded by his Chaplain, the Rev. 'N. 'V. Kulward, who carried the Bishop's Staff.

Following the Bishop came in pairs the Very Rev. Dean A. Swann, the Rev. Arch Deacon Mok Bhau-tsang, the Rev. W. W. Rogers, the Rev. C. B. Shann, the Rev. C. J. Blanchard, the Rev. Lee Kau yan, the Rev. Tso See-kal and the Rev. Tuang Kel-ngok, Pastor of the wow Church. The Church Wardens were behind the Clergy.

The Bishop then sat in his chair, and there received the instruments of donation and endowment which he placed upon the Holy Table..

After some prayers had been said, the Bishop and Clergy pro- ceeded to the Font whilst the Chair sung "We love the place, O God." At the Font, prayers were sald by the Rov. At the cliancel steps more pray ers were said alternately, by the Rev. Lee and the Bishop, and then the Choir and Congregation sang " is the house of prayer."

IV. The Temple:-Let us now turn our thoughts to another House of God. King David want. ed to build a House of God. It was the ambition of his life to build one. He collected all the materials together. We have a very moving description of this in the last chapter of the first book of Chronicles.

David himself gave liberally and the people gave liberally and we for that they offered willingly and are told that the people rejoiced

David the King also rejoiced with great joy and David said to all the congregation "Now bless the Lord your God."

But though David collected the material for the temple, it was Solomon who built it. The build- ing took seven years and the feast of the dedication lasted

Jacob was alone in a solitary place and he dreamed his dicam of the ladder set up to heaven and of the angels of God ascending and descending upon it as he lay in the open with stones for his pillow.

And God came to Jacob in his dream and when he awoke he aid "Surely the Lord is in this place and I knew it not" and he said "This is the House of God, and this is the gate of heaven."

Yes, God is everywhere and he uses dreams and many other means to bring men near Him.

But God does choose special

places in which to reveal Himself and to set His name there.

It will help us, I think, this con- secration service to-day if we re call some of these places..
