FROG DEITY FOR VICTORY.
Significance of H.E. The Governor's Trip.
CAPTAIN ROBERT DOLLAR & THE TSINAN INCIDENT.
[By Li Chung-yin."] Superstition still plays a big part in the views of some Chinese in Hong Kong in regard to the Tsinan incident and the trouble with Japan. In lighter vein, a few of the fallacies are worth repeating, if only because the stories reveal the simplicity of mind depicted on
such a momentous occasion,
A believer in "fung shui" or geomancy advocates a new stand- ard to be borne on to the battlefield by the Nationalist Army. For reasons which will be explained, it is suggested that a representa- tion of the frog deity on a war flag will automatically have the effect of crushing Japanese opposition!

Captain Robert Dollar's name has also been dragged into the discussion. His visit, of course, must be connected with the dispute between China and Japan and (so say the gossipers) he cannot stay here because he has to hurry back to urge America's immediate
intervention in the interests of Nationalist China!
