Whenteroft has won the Shang hai Race Club Champions on one occasion before. This was it the autumn meeting of 1926. This pony has
also been placed third twice in the Champions, at the autumn meeting in 1925

The Champions was the only classic race rin yesterday, it being the ninth event on the card. For other results the "China Mal" is indebted to the Hong Kong Club and to Mussrs. Linstend & Davis,

London, April 28. " Beautiful Aun:mor weather pre- vailed at Moor Park, the delightful Hertfordshire course, during the Anglo-American match between Archie Compston and Walter Hagen, & former winner of the Bri- tish and American open champion- ships. The match was over 72 holes for a stake of £750.
At the conclusion of the match, which Compston won 18 up and 17 to play, Hagen declared that he had played the worst golf of his life, adding "But when you are laid out good and flat you mustn't squawk."
Compston is perfect at the mo- ment and has issued a challenge to any golfer in the world for any stake.
