Southern Forces Reported To Have Run Amok.

NORTHERNERS DISARMED AT TSINGTAO.

More than thirty of the Japanese expedition at. Tsinan, the capital of Shantung, including four officers, have become casualties in what appears to be desultory fighting with Southern Chinese troops who also suffered numerous casualties. Reuter indicates that hostile activities are becoming more serious and another report states that the Southern troops' had "run amok and were firing and looting indiscriminately."

Trouble caused by Northern troops is spreading eastward from·| Tsinan and 2,000 of these men are said to have been disarmed by the Japanese at Tsingtao.

Nothing untoward has been reported from Chefoo, which is to the north of Tsingtao. The "China Mail" learns that H.M.S. "Foxglove" is proceeding to Wei-hai-wei, which is close to Chefoo, but her departure from Hong Kong may only be a part of the annual Flect migration to the North during the

summer.
