THE PEKING PARTY AND "CHRISTIAN GENERAL."
Several Chinese political parties are reported to be very busy in a competition to bring about new alliances between the various military factions now engaged in warfare.
According to a Chinese message, the peacemakers have con- fined their attention to North China. One party which once had con- siderable influence in Peking desires to bring about rapprochement between the Peking Government and the "Christian General.” Mem- bers of this party, are said to be at Chengchow, the headquarters of the "Christian General."
