DECLARED LEGITIMATE AFTER 65 YEARS.

BIRTH SECRET,

The corporation of Budapest, missing, a useful source of income in the fines of this reformed soot- producer, made inquiries, which have resulted in the drafting of a by-law to force every factory within the city boundaries to instal these appliances. Vienna is also expert- manting in the samee direction.

Langer stated before his death that he believed his invention would relieve any city from fogs which were directly caused by smoke from factory chimneys. He emphasised, however, that it could not be adapt ed to household fires.

Sir Laming Worthington-Evans, Secretary for War, left London for his tour of Indian military stations.

One of the women stated she did not know of her illegitimacy until! she desired to be confirmed in 1881, when her father said: "You can- not be confirmed becauso you have not been baptised, and you were not baptised because when you were born your mother and I were not married."

The eldest brother of the women said that he always remembered the two sisters being with the family. The father, by his will, left £3,000 to one of them and £2,000 to the other.
