A Gallant Rescue.
During his long life at sen Cap- tain Webster has never been wrecked. When mate aboard the "Asenyo" in 1895, he commanded the lifeboat that put out in a gale to rescue nineteen of the crew of

During the South African War, Captain Webster was in command of the troopship “Milwaukee," and took the second Canadian contin- gent to the Cape from Halifax. He also took nine hundred Boer pri- aoners of war, including General Cronje and his staff, to St. Helena. For his trooping service during the campaign hê received the Royal Naval Reserve Decoration.
Captain Webster will settle down. at his home in Waterloo, near Liverpool. His eldest son, who is twenty-three years of age, le at sea, and his two younger sons are also expected to follow the calling, of their father.
Captain Webster was born at Formby, near Liverpool, and‐ dur- ing his career covered over 8,000,- 000 miles on, various ships.
