Mr. G. P. Lammert (junior) then went into the witness box. He and he was a taller in the Ameri- can Express Company, 'Hong Kong. He identified the prisoner as man who called on December 2 1926, at the bank and required £500 on a letter of credit of the

Banque Ottomans. Witness ac- cordingly gave defondant £450 in travellers' cheques and the equiva- lent of £50 in Hong Kong currency. Witness made up two drafts the London branch of the Banque Ottoman, which were dishonoured in due course. The latter of credit produced by Puig on that occasion was one for £2,000.
This completed evidence for the prosecution and accused was com- mitted.

The notes, which are by F. J. de Rome, B.Sc., and Rev. N. Evans, M.A., were originally compiled for the mastors of Junior classes in Ellis Kadoorle School and, as such, have been used in Geography lessons for the past eighteen months. It was felt, however, that the information contained would be of value to older scholars and the general public and with a view to placing the information at their disposal, the authors have issued the book in printed form, together at the price (at the bookstalls) of with some excellent photographs,
