In Junior Division "A" the leaders, K.O.S.B. and St. Joseph's both scored full points.

R.A. v. QUEEN'S REGIMENT.

Hard Earned Victory.

The Queen's had a very hard time in beating the R.A. at the Soakum- opoo ground.

Referee: Mr. Baldwin, Teams:

The Borderers were aliatory in starting and before they had quite got into their stride Gosano scored again-a surprise goal!

The Queen's retaliated with a beautiful drop kick from Herridge which made the score even of two

The Queen's now awamped the R.A. defence and another goal was credited to them through Richard- aon.

The Borderers struggled hard to equalise and Alexander and Davey both had hard luck with good ef-

The game closed with the Queen's forta, the Recreio, however, main-victorious but it was a very hard taining their lead to the interval.

In the second half the Borderars set a very hot pace and only a couple of brilliant clearances by Silva Bav- ed Recreio from disaster. However the Regiment were not to be denied and, after Stock had been brought down very heavy in the penalty aren, Davey smashed in a shot from the mark, which Silva never saw. The Recreio were now hard press ed, but from a break away Brown centred and, the Borderers' back hésitating, Silva met the ball with a first time effort and smashed past Anderson with a great shot.

Although Davey was temporarily removed during some hot work, the Borderers played up finely, and Alexander scored a smart goal.

From now to the end the game was all in favour of the Borderers, and efforts by Alexander, McClin- chey and Davey just went wrong The Recreto were forced to defend and even Goaano was amongst the halfbacks, so desperate was the Borderers' attack.

Comments.

There is no doubt that Recreio were fortunate in taking full points. Thanke to two snap goals in the first ten minutes Recreio establish ed a winning lead, but even their most ardent supporter must admit they were not the superior team on the day's play.

Silvo did good service in goal and Silva Netto, of the Reserves, made a good debut. C. Remedios was pro- minent to a good halfback line. Silva was very amart forward. Gosano did great service in keeping the Borderers hot attack back and his forward game suffered in con- sequence Brown gave a welcome return to his old form.

The play of the Borderers, for a losing team, was admirable. Their football, particularly in the second half, was of high class. Excepting for the matter of goals they out

SCOTS GUARDS v. R.A.O.

A Real Good Fight.

Referee: Capt. Austin,

However, the R.A.F. made several desperate efforts and fine play between Vornon and Con- stable saw the latter shoot ju outside with the defence beaten, The Guards' defence held out and the R.A.F. retired defeated by the narrow margin of a goal. For the ivacra Vernon, Robbine, and Con- stable were quite good forward, Welsh and Wilkes were stalwarts in the defence. Williams, who de- putised for Avery, did well and had no chance with the goal scored. The

ST. JOSEPH'S v. R.A.

A Narrow Victory.

In this match between the St. Joseph's and the R.A. (referee, Mr. Baldwin) the eleven that the College put out was entirely different to the Chinese that which defeated last week. The College just man- aged to win by one goal to nil and: that was merited by a penalty which Johnson, the left inalde, net- ted in fine style.

Play opened very evenly but the College were soon put on the de- fence by the soldiers' onrush. Fine defence work on the part of the College kept the R.A..from scoring.. The College got their goal in the middle of the first half and they kept the lead throughout. In the second half the R.A. went all out

for an equaliser which never came. The College, on the other hand, were kept too busy on the defence to do much damage at the other goal.
