COLONY'S HEALTH.
`MALARIA & BERI-BERI ON INCREASE.
REPORT FOR 1926.
The deaths from influenza in the Colony during 1927 were less than for the last nine years, according to the report of the Medical officer of Health. They numbered 33.
Malarial fever and beri-beri have Increased in incidence during the last few years as la shown from tables contained in the report. There were 587 deaths from malaria during 1926 and 1,192 deaths from
beri-beri.
Deaths from tubercular diseases during the year numbered 1,916.
There were no cases of plague notified during 1926 and the Colony has been free from plague for well over three years.
There were three cases of cholera imported but no case of locally ac- quired chatera.
The incidence of small-pox was light, forty-nine cases in all being reported, of which 31 only were local cases.
