Civil Service Defeat The Bowling Green.
[By "Short Head"] Both the Civil Service Cricket Club and the Kowloon Bowling Green Club completed their First Division fixtures on Saturday when they met at Kowloon, victory going to the visitors, who thus extract the whole four points from the Bowling Green Club this season.
W. Russell was pitted against Pendered and gave his best dis- play of the whole season, although only two shots separated the rinks at the finish. Pendered led by 6-3 at the fifth hend and 11-8 at the tenth head. Russell, however, scored from the ninth to the 13th head, inclusive, from which he extracted eight shots at a critical stage of the game. He led at the 20th head by 19-13, bul Pendered secured a four on the last head and thus went down by only a couple of shots. He was by no means diagraced, looking Russell's superb individual play.
W. Macfarlane was opposed by Brawn and got his "blow" In firat by securing a four on the initiali head and another four on the fourth hend. He led at the Afth head by 8-4, but the scores were Jevel (12 all) at the tenth head. Macfarlane got a дія ол the eleventh head and led at the fifteenth by 20-14. At the 19th hend Brawn had crept up to within one of Macfarlane but the latter got a couple of twos and won by 23-20.
