A Changing Game.
After all, cricket is a changing game, sometimes a few minutes will alter the outlook altogether. Be- fore you can judge whether the game is slow, you must study the type of bowler, his length and accuracy, the keenness of the fold- lng, the position in which the bats- man's team is placed, and, in gen- eral, the position of the game at that moment. If you do this, I am certain that you will often find that the so-called slow game is the only one possible!
Cricketers of to-day are just as capable as those of twenty-five or thirty years ago. They can and do get runs when the time is ripe. for them to do so. If they try to get them at any other time, then they are risking the loss of a wicket. they are letting down their side, an above all, they are playing badly.

We have a preponderance of slow bowlers in this country and many people who watch the game think that, on this account, we should have big scores.
