A FILIPINO "COME BACK."

[By "The Tramp."} As a result of the only game played in the tennis League on Saturday the Recreio will now meet the Chinese in a deciding battle for the championship of the "B" division. The week end match saw the Recreio defeat the Indians by nine games, other en- counters being postponed on ac- count of the slippery nature of the turf. Rain also upset the baseball programme, yesterday's game between the Hong Kong Baseball Club and the Filipinos having to be postponed when each side had scored a run apiece. On Saturday, before what is said to be a "record" crowd for this sea-j son, the "Dragons" (S.C.A.A.) de- feated the Japanese by two runs to one. It was a fine struggle, and felding

At Douglas, Isic of Man, I read, the Middlesbrough rider F. W. Dixon won the Junior Tourist Trophy race in perfect weather and in record time. Dixon, who is one of the most popular riders in the island and has ridden here re- gularly since before the war, won the side-car "T.T." in 1923, and has been'three times either second or third in the Senior race. His mount this year was, an H.R.D.I For the "Junior" the H.R.D. was not greatly fancied.

FINE COMBINATION,

Hong Kong Athletic Association's soccer team, which has been in a win- ning streak for the past thres weeks, defeating in turn the Scots Guards, Welch and Queen's Regiments, scored their fourth victory against the Services, on Saturday beating the R.A.M.C.,, comfortably by 3 goals to 1.

In the first half the Chinese led by one goal to nil, the score com- ing after ten rainutes' play dur ing which time the hall was mostly in the Medicos territory.

The second half was evenly contested with neither side scor- ing up to the last ten minutes when three goals came in quick succession.

Medicas Press. First the Chinese broke through and their centre forward made sure with a cannon ball shot from close range. Then the Medios got going and all but scored. The ball crossed the goal- mouth three times before the Chinese goalie was able to get rid of it.

The Chinese added their third goal two minutes afterwards, as the result of a smart piece of combination.

Following some midfield play, the Medicos got away in a fine

9. 2 dash, and with one back beaten a

goal scemed certain.

Then one of the attackers was tripped in the penalty arca. The Medicos made sure from the re sulting penalty kick.

The final whistle came a few minutes afterwards with the 7- 4 Chinese well in enemy territory.
