Mrs. F. C. Eliott-Lynn and Lady Bailey, wife of Sir Abe Bailey, established an altitude record for light aeroplanes at Hamble, near Southampton, on May 19. Their machine was an Avro-Avian, Mrs. Elliott-Lynn was pilot and Lady Bailey carried a sealed altograph to record the altitude. They remain- ed in the air for two hours 33 min- utes 35 seconda, and reached height of 16,000 feet.
