Shanghai, May 25, At a meeting in Hong Kong last night of members of the China Coast Officers' Guild and the Marine Engineers' Guild of China, a resolution was passed supporting unanimously a deci- sion which was taken at a meeting of the combined Guilds in Shang- hai on May 9 in regard to the reduction (as from April 1) of the salaries of the deck and en- gineer officers of the China Navigation Co.

(a) Its consent to submit the dispute to an adjustment board in accordance with the terms of the agreement of May, 1916; or, alternatively.

(b) To signify its decision to re-

store the salaries to the level prevailing previous to the re- duction, as well as to refund to all ranks the salary per- centage deducted since April 1, 1927.

It is not known what action the Guilds propose to take in the event of the request contained in the above letter being refused. "N. C. Daily News."
