Evidence by Sergt. Scrim was to the effect that on the day of the accident he was driving the cycle, with a dog cage at the side, and Sergt. Cameron on the pillion scat. As he was turning into Whitty Street a Chinese dashed round the corner in front of the cycle. The Sergeant swerved to the right to avoid the man, and in doing so the dog cage tilted, and at the same time he saw another man about 4 or 6 yards away from the cage. He' again swerved back to the left to avoid this man. The machine toppled over and the dog cage struck the deceased. An ambulance was sent for and the man was con- veyed to the Government Civil Hospital.
