The "Service Members' Cup pre- duced the full-sall-breeze all mem bere were looking for plus a' little bit for luck. Had any member the moral courage to pulf down a reef before starting I believe he would have scored pretty heavily. The wind to the western end of the har- bour was as much as most wanted and in some cases more. "Doro- thea" "of the Handicap Class sailed by Mr. C. L. Edwards won the first prize, with "Daphne" of the "I" Class salled by Mr. Dreyer second. and "Boojum” sailed by Mr. F. G. Vaux, took third prize. "Boojum" was not treated too well in that she had to make up, close hauled, over the first of the flooding tide from Cust Rock to the finish wheress: the boats finishing" earlier had a fair! wind to bring 'em home. Such ia the joy of sailing; you never know when the wind may change to the favour or frustrate you but such l'uncertainties breed an optimiam
