Mr. H. Griffin of Messrs Butterfield & Swire (accompani ed by Mrs. Griffin) were on the "Antenor" which arrived: yes- terday from Home where they have been on long leave. Mr. Griffin has been missed from the Hong Kong Cricket Club this season as he has bowled well regularly for the second eleven.

Mr. J. P. Bourne, Superintendent | of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. sailed on Wednesday by the M.M. "Paul Lecat" for Shanghal. He is going northwards to meet the tourist ship "Califor- nia" which will later come on to Hong Kong where the cruise will be in the hands of the 'Hotels Co. Mr. Bourne was accompanied by Mr.; P. I. Newman, resident manager, of the Hong Kong Hotel.

Another successful Ladies Night was held at the European Y.M.C.A last night, there being a large number of members and guests present.
